Challenges do work!
People respond generously!
What an amazing community the Prescott area is!

This year the Feinstein Challenge brought in record amounts of food and funds for the Open Door pantry and kitchen. This year’s total was an impressive 44,157 food items and $44,295.00 for a total of $88,452.00. Each food item counts as one dollar toward the challenge.

The Feinstein Challenge is held each year during March and April. This comes at an important time when holiday donations have been exhausted and summer residents are beginning to travel up to Prescott to escape the Phoenix heat. We are seeing 160-190 guests per day.

At least 130 people are being given pantry bags daily. This represents a distribution of 1,950 food items per week. The need is great in the current stressed economy, and even this large collection is disappearing fast.

Can we challenge you again?

If you would like to help Open Door with pantry and kitchen needs, please drop food donations at 505 West Gurley Street, Tuesday – Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. For further information, call Open Door Director, Diane Iverson, at 928-541-9304.
